I nonetheless remember an incident that occurred when I was a eight years old. While me and my mom were out shopping on the city's busiest shop district, instantly the sky grew to become grey and heavy rain begun falling down. Because the pavements and the parked vehicles have been washed by its tremendous volume, my mother rapidly grabbed my hand and led me to a close-by shop to purchase an Multi color Umbrella. She let me pick my favorite colour and in a matter of minutes we were out again underneath its safety zone, quickly walking to the nearest bus stop.

Since that day, my favourite umbrella was that straightforward blue one my mother had purchased that September evening. Carrying it each time the weatherman predicted rainfall, my large blue umbrella grew to become soon a symbol of my presence in a room. Though it was relatively massive in dimension for my age, its light design and durable frame made it the proper umbrella selection for me. I always had additional room to securely guard house my little brother and it was its shade and simple opening mechanism that made it interesting to most of my school friends. In addition, the truth that its design and colour had been simple and its size larger than most child's umbrellas, made me think of it as a "severe" umbrella that easily a grownup would be seen carrying. This made me consider myself as more mature, able to protect and lead my brother or classmates throughout a heavy storm.

Perhaps, the fact that my umbrella efficiently made it via the early school years, becoming an object of great sentimental worth to me, was enough for me to be devastated when one winter evening I returned house without it beneath my arm. I have forgotten it inside the bus that brought me home and although I called the transportation office of my metropolis and requested the driving force to go looking the seats so as to get better my lost umbrella, his efforts were not successful. Since my carelessness was the reason that I misplaced my first blue umbrella, for years I refused to be seen carrying one, preferring to get myself wet to the bone whenever it rained. I considered this as a personal ritual as a punishment I had to endure as a way to keep in mind that the things we love must be carefully taken care of. My solely comfort was the thought that maybe one other person, the one who has most likely found my umbrella hanging in that bus, would take higher care of it and in return it would shield him or her because it did me for years.

Today, umbrellas are utilized by all both as a sun and rain protection mechanism. As courses and power roles are actually signified by a unique, more costly set of equipment, umbrella manufacturers have promoted a unique image for the modern umbrellas' uses. Given the truth that umbrellas can now be produced by firms as part of their promotional materials, exactly like jockey hats or T-shirts, carrying a emblem, a brand name or a slogan, persons are accustomed to see it everywhere. All around the world as we speak, individuals have learned to rely on umbrellas so as to walk safely from their house to their automobile or metro-stop throughout mild or more severe climate conditions.
