They only skipped back to the last performance episode for their first song, Ellie Goulding's "Anything Could Happen." (Perhaps it's a bow to wishfully thinking that the song might work twice as a self-fulfilling prophecy.) They followed up with "Give Your Heart A Break," singing along with Judge Demi Lovato Sister, who Simon suggested join the group and call themselves Sixth Harmony. They, too, finished strong, performing a very gospel-infused "Let It Be" (The Beatles).
Jack McBean scored in the 38th minute by heading home a cross from Bryan Gaul. Gaul got down the left flank and McBean beat his man to the ball and sent a powerful header off the underside of the crossbar.

After the requisite drawn out moments of drama, Paige Miles was eliminated from American Idol season 9. Simon Cowell told her right away that she wouldn't be saved using the judges' pass, and Paige called her participation in the competition "the roller coaster of a lifetime". Paige ended the show with a sing-off that wasn't terrible, but also didn't showcase her strong vocal talent.
The big question for the Galaxy heading into the playoffs will be the health of their defense. A.J. Demi Lovato Sister is still not healthy and is likely to miss the team's playoff opener. Sean Franklin left the match due to injury and the Galaxy inserted Bryan Gaul on the right side. The team does not have a backup right defender and was forced to use Gaul who brought everything to the middle of the field, the natural lefty seeming hesitant to use his right foot.
The "X Factor" finale began with a vocal tribute to the victims at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut. The Top 13 finalists performed Michael Jackson's "You Are Not Alone" after a few words of sympathy from Simon.
Mike Magee was taken off at halftime, possibly due to injury. Magee, the first half goal scorer, has been on fire recently with two goals against Vancouver. Magee has been an integral part of the Galaxy attack this season, he is the second leading scorer on the team.
